Chelsea fans reject Benitez

pictures don't lie
It was a chants of total rejection as Rafa Benitez secures a point on his first Chelsea match against Manchester City the game ended 0-0 but  placard carrying fans jeered their new coach while some displayed their love and thank you message to their former, Di Matteo. Back to the brass task, Torres whom the whole idea of sacking Di Matteo hinges on cast a frustrated  figure and the presence of his favourite coach did not make him play any better today, he blasted a decent chance over the bar to sum it up.

Benitez started the same set of players as Di Matteo would have done and his rejection by the fans means he has an odious tasks, getting Torres back to scoring form, keeping a winning streak to satisfy the owner; and winning over the Stamford Bridge fans....Didier Drogba was also spotted in the stands wearing a pair of glasses as he watched his former team mates struggle to impress without him.

Real Madrid hands over the title...

Cristiano
Since Barcelona established an 8 points lead above the Spanish Champions Real Madrid with the later stunning their fans by loosing against oppositions they could have easily beaten earlier this season; expectations were still high that they will catch up with Barcelona somehow, but so much to the chagrin of their supporters, Madrid yesterday lost again away from home to Betis leaving the league title not in their hands to decide but  actually handing it over to Barcelona who will have to beat |Levante today to establish an 11 points lead on Madrid. The 1-0 lost to Real Betis came as a huge surprise, but some do understand that Madrid  players were fatigued after a hard fought win against Manchester city in the champions league last Wednesday.
The special one will only bring something special to salvage their league title this season and with Malaga lurking with the high performing Falcao, the hope is so slim.

Harry's Job cut out for him with another QPR lost

Arry
Former Tottenham's coach Harry Rednapp who has taken over the relegation threatened QPR was only eligible to watch his new team from the stands when they lost to Manchester united 3-1 in one of the premier league matches played today.Ironically, it was a good result for him to identify what is wrong with the win less club and fix it with a huge reward waiting for him if QPR survives this relegation battle...

Arsenal players left their manager Wenger frustrated as they coudn't penetrate a resolute Villa defence at  Villa park, the match ended in a barren draw of which Villa faithfuls will be the happier.  The chances came but the likes of Giroud and Koscielny could not convert them into goals.

BBC African footballer of the year shortlist

DEMBA BA
Demba Ba, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Younes Belhanda, and Christopher katongo make the list....no Nigerian or Ghanian!

Mark Hughes follows Di Matteo...

Mark Hughes

It is not surprising to anyone to hear that Mark Hughes has been sacked as QPR coach; without any win in the premiership this season having only 4 points out of 12 matches played isn’t good enough for any owner or football club. Mark was expected to resign after buying so many experienced players (although old) he was not able to make them gel as a team to produce results.
QPR currently lies at the bottom of the league table which is a place where nobody even Hughes himself don’t want to be, the question is who will bail the cat? Who will take over the odious task of bring QPR out of this abyss….Harry Redknapp former Tottenham coach is in the picture.

Benitez in replaces Roberto in the interim...

Rafa will start to wear the blue shirt
Chelsea or should I say Abramovic has announced Rafa Benitez former Lverpool and former Inter Milan coach as RDM's replacement to see off the season... and the big question is what has Rafa been doing for the last two years since his short stay at Inter, what is good about Benitez that cannot be found in Roberto?..

Benitez won the Champions league with Liverpool (many years ago) just like Di Matteo did last season so how better is Benitez over Di Matteo? questions for the rich owner to answer!
so many things are wrong about this appointment; the man Benitez is not popular and liked by Chelsea fans (check on Twitter #Benitez), Benitez has not coached any player since 2010, he is not familiar with other Chelsea player apart from the under performing Torres whose non performance or inconsistency has been the bane of Chelsea coaches lately.

RDM Roberto Di Matteo sacked!

RDM has been sacked by Chelsea FC following dismal performance against Juventus yesterday in the champions league cum recent results....no coach has been named as his replacement but the names of Benitez and Pep Guardiola are in the rumour mill....mmmh! did not come as a surprise Mr Abramovic is known for this isn't it?

Chelsea on the brink....Shakhtar Qualifies

After Juventus have run them ragged tonight with an emphatic 3-0 win in Turin,Chelsea will be hoping that Shakhter do them a favour in Ukrane to hopefully avoid being the first champions to go out in the group stage of the Champions league. Shakhtar have already qualified after beating Nordsjaelland 5-2 and will only need a draw to maintain their first position in the group to avoid meeting any top team from other groups in the knock out stages. It has been strings and strings of poor results for Chelsea and their manager RDM who is desperately under pressure with tough features just days ahead. His option of starting without his recognized striker Torres did not pay off as the likes of Mata and Hazard had off days in the pitch.

Another English side Manchester United already qualified for the knock out stages lost 1-0 to Galatasaray with a much changed team after fielding mostly fringe players. While Barcelona made sure of their qualification by with a 3-0 win away in Moscow against Spartak.

Giant Killers... Chelsea and ManU lost against the odds

pls don't cry
The dip in form continued for Chelsea FC as they lost 2-1 away from home to West Brom.  Roberto's men could not take their chances as the Baggies continued their surprising good run this season and now sits fourth on the log ; the two strikers Long and Odemwingie got the goals for West Brom while Hazard scored for Chelsea . Torres was hauled off in the second half after another barren day for him ,while Daniel Sturridge was not better with his selfish style of play and missed chances...
stunned!
RDM has now lost points in three consecutive premier league matches and will have to do better come next week in his home town Italy when Chelsea will face Juventus in the champions League.

The come back kings Manchester United had an off day as Norwich City reminded them how everyday can not be Christmas... a lone goal from Pilkington was enough to hand over United their 3rd defeat of the season and hand over the league leadership to their noisy neighbours Manchester City, who thrashed Aston Villa 5-0... Addition 4 minutes that turned into 5 minutes (Fergie time) was not enough to enable Sir Alex's boys to steal any point. Chicarito started for United along side highly prized RVP who was swallowed up by the hard working Norwich defense. Worthy of note is the last minute save made by Rudy Norwich's goalkeeper to prevent United from benefiting in what could have been an astonishing own goal when his defender headed towards his own goal.

unsung world best players...

The method of selecting the world best player might sound okay but the subjective nature of it will prevent certain best players being given the award..this may not be far from their attitude on and off the field as perceived by the coaches and journalists who vote to nominate the world best player.
On the field of play these players show extra ordinary skills, score goals, and contribute hugely to their teams, the nearest they can get is to be nominated  but may remain unwritten as world bests......

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Samuel Eto'o

Didier Drogba
Luis Suarez

Champions League Results...Big guns held

Ballo fighting the refs
5 draws were recorded in yesterday's Champions League matches, notably Real Madrid and  Manchester City in the group of death were held to a 2-2 draw each by their respective visitors, who both stunned their hosts by taking the lead in the first half; Manchester City who came back from 2 goals down at the Etihad against Ajax were left fuming when a shirt pull penalty was denied Balloteli and the Italian wasted no time to show his frustration to the referee at the end of proceedings and was also supported by his coach Mancini...
Mourinho's magic was just enough to secure his team a draw through Ozil, when Mardrid went three at the back to pile enough pressure on a fantastic Dortmund team who drew the first blood with their fascinating counters and left the Spanish Champions playing catch up at home.
Arsenal could not hold on their lead away against Schalke after Walcott and a rare Giroud goal put them up, and the Londoners could not pay back what the German team did to them at the Emirate, Schalke equalized via Huntelaar and Farfan to remain on top of group B.

Boo boys Vs RVP

sorry guys 'am still 'goners'
Early kick off 12:45 uk time; Spot light will be on the ex-Arsenal captain RVP against his former employers, will he be welcomed by the boo boys or will he break their hearts again by scoring for Manchester United..
Mikel & Chelsea FC have been in the news through out the week for the alleged racial abuse by referee Clattenburg and with the other officials throwing their weight behind their colleague , the question is will Chelsea continue to get a fair and objective officiating from the men in black? Swansea hopefully will continue to showcase their fancy passing football in this encounter.
Wigan with 8 points out of 9 games this season will find it difficult against AVB's side dumped out of the Capital one cup in the mid week, but this is a must win for Tottenham to reduce the pressure on their manager.
