It was an ugly scene for African football as the likes of Didier Drogba, Yaya & Gervinho were attacked in an AFCON qualifier between Senegal and Ivory Coast, the incident started shortly after Drogba converted a penalty the second goal for the Ivory coast and that incensed the Senegalese fans who started making smokes, fire and threw stones and weapons on ivory coast players...it was at the 69th minute of the game with 6-2 aggregate in favour of Ivory Coast when the match was abandoned and security personnel ensured that the players were shielded and guided back into the dressing rooms.
It's a shame that Senegalese fans did not have the patience to allow their chosen 11 to finish the work for them rather they resulted to violence they will now face a huge sanction from CAF and Ivory Coast is likely to be awarded the 3 points to go through.
