an unusual Cole's goal rescues Chelsea

An unusual Ashley Cole's goal  rescues Chelsea from what would have been their third draw in a row ..with the owner Roman watching everybody from his VIP box pressure was especially on RDM who knew that nothing will do apart from 3 points...Ashley Cole has not scored for over two seasons but he broke the deadlock in the 85th minute of the game and Chelsea fans were in ecstasy...

RDM responded to critics by resting Lampard and Terry the old guards on the bench, starting the impressive Oscar with Mata returning to the fold; Ramires anchored the midfield with Mikel and surprisingly the Nigerian nearly broke his own goal drought when he found himself in an unfamiliar territory in Stoke's box only to be denied by a brilliant Stoke defender...Mikel also received cheers and applause when he got on the ball from Chelsea fans which is really impressive considering what he went through recently....

Torres was not firing in all cylinders yet and he missed an opportunity to beat  Begovic  in Stoke's goal when Mata got him a nice pass after a good first touch he kicked the air instead....
Stoke could also have won it when Walters hit the woodwork with his effort; but the Chelsea lads showed more desire to grab the points as they lead in possession in both half..

Chelsea remains top of the league on 13 points with super Sunday matches between some of the top four in view.
